[Genting Highlands, Malaysia 2022] Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm

Located in Gohtong Jaya, opposite the Mawar and Bunga Raya apartments, you will find one the biggest strawberry farm in Malaysia, or so they claim. The Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm is one of the popular locations to explore while visiting Genting Highlands. Despite having visited Genting Highlands countless times, I must admit that I didn't know there is a strawberry farm up there until recently!
The entrance fee is a bit pricey. Tickets cost RM 20 for adults and RM 15 for kids under 12 years old, which is rather expensive considering the things you can do and see here is quite limited. In addition, if you want to experience the joys of picking your own strawberries at the farm, it will cost RM 8 per 100 grams of fruit plucked.
Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm is a fully covered farm, which is an ideal place to visit during rain or shine. Upon stepping into the farm, you will be greeted by beautiful rows of flowers. With more than 10,000 plants calling it home, the farm providing a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The strawberry farm was actually smaller than I expected. I doubt it is the biggest strawberry farm in Malaysia.
Here, you will find rows of rows of strawberries are grown hydroponically. You can pluck the strawberries fresh from the orchards. However, strawberry picking was not available at the time we visited (December) as it was not the picking season. Most of the strawberries were small and unripe, thus were not ready to be harvested.
Pre-packed strawberries were available for purchase, as well as a number of strawberry products like jam, juices and lollipops. There was also a souvenir store selling lavender-based products.
Other than strawberry and lavender based products, you will find a stall selling honey products.
Other than strawberry picking, there is really nothing much to do here except taking photos while admiring the beautiful flowers and gardens.
Walking through the farm is a very relaxing experience. You will find all kinds of colorful flowers at every corner of the farm, offering a visual treat for the eyes. We spent most of our time here taking tons of photos.
I like that the farm is not overly commercialized, and it was not crowded with tourists (at least on the day we visited). It felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves! Overall, the place is clean and well-maintained. However, some areas of the farm are still a bit rundown and in need of refurbishment.
