Lexis Port Dickson is a beachfront resort comprising collection of villas built over water. Situated 10 minute drive outside of Port Dickson’s center, the resort offers 4 types of rooms: Premium Tower Room, Deluxe Water Chalet, Executive Water Chalet and Premium Water Chalet.

We stayed at a Premium Water Chalet during Chinese New Year this year. There were plenty of parking spaces at the resort. Check in procedures was fast and smooth. The resort has a buggy service to take you from the main lobby to your room and vice versa. However, the waiting time can be quite long during peak hours like check-in and check-out times.

To be honest, I was really disappointed when I stepped into the room. First of all, the layout of the room was also horrible. The bathroom is being placed right at the entrance of the room. It was definitely not a pleasant feeling when the first area that welcomed you into the room was the bathroom. Having the bathroom being placed at the entrance also meant that no one was able to leave the room when someone was taking a shower.

The extremely spacious bathroom was divided into four main areas: washbasin, toilet, bathtub and shower. None of us took a soak in the bathtub because the bathroom didn't make us feel comfortable and relaxed at all.

The entire space was dimly lit and there were no lights in the shower area. Thus, we have to shower in the dark, which can be quite dangerous for kids and elderly. This was the first time we have to shower in the dark.

Even though the room can accommodate 4 people, the resort only provided towels and toiletries for 2 people. Toiletries provided at the resort include shower cap, bar soap, disposable toothbrush and toothpaste, a small bottle of body wash and shampoo.

Measuring 605 square feet, this is the most spacious room available in the entire resort. With 1 king size bed and 1 queen size bed, the room can accommodate up to 5 people. Fitted with wooden flooring, the room also comes with a TV, ironing facilities, coffee and tea making facilities, mini fridge, hair dryer and safety deposit box.

Although spacious, the room was old and dated. There were obvious signs of wear and tear everywhere. It was obvious that the entire resort needs some serious refurbishment.

Cleanliness also has to be improved as the room was a bit dusty. The beds didn’t feel clean and fresh, and the pillows were also too soft. It was pretty uncomfortable and we have trouble falling asleep at night. Complimentary WiFi is available, but connection was slow and weak.

The room also comes with a large private balcony that offers view of the sea.  Of course, do not expect the view to be awesome. The waters in this part of Malaysia are murky brown and unappealing, thus the view wasn't really impressive.

As Covid-19 restrictions were still in place at that time, we did not get to enjoy the swimming pool and ‘breakfast’ at the resort. Our breakfast was served in the form of takeaway food. However, the food was cold and stale that we have to throw most of them away.

Conclusion

Overall, I didn’t really enjoy the stay at Lexis Port Dickson. Price at night at the resort typically range from RM 300 – RM 600 a night. Although the price was pretty reasonable, I was reluctant to stay here again unless the resort undergoes a complete revamp.  I would recommend its sister hotel, Grand Lexis Port Dickson, instead.
