I celebrated my birthday with my husband at Pampas Steakhouse at Old Malaya back in September this year. Housed in a century-old English colonial building against the amazing backdrop of KL Tower, Pampas Steakhouse at Old Malaya is a semi-fine-dining restaurant that serves quality steaks at affordable prices.
The restaurant offers both outdoor and indoor seating. However, do note that reservation is recommended as seating can be quite limited during peak hours.
The interior is a mixture of old charm and modernity. Black and white checkered floors and soft yellow lights create a warm and intimate atmosphere. We decided to order their "Table For Two" set because we felt that it was a really great deal. Priced at RM 299+ for 2 paxs, the 3-course set consist of an appetizer, main course and dessert. (**The menu will change according to season)
Scallops with Beetroot
For appetizer, we had pan seared scallops served with creamy mashed pumpkin and homemade beetroot puree. The scallops were very fresh, sweet and slightly soft with a little bounce.
For dessert, we had Chocolate Lava with Chocolate Ice Cream. The Chocolate Lava was sinfully sweet. A good way to end our dinner!
Overall, we had an enjoyable experience dining at Pampas. Service was good and food was delicious. The environment was intimate and cozy as well. It is a great place for celebration or a quiet dine-out experience. For those who drive here, valet parking is also available within the vicinity at RM 15.
