Visited the famous fish ball noodle stall in Ampang for a warm bowl of fish ball noodles.

The decades-old stall is located inside 226 coffee shop in Ampang, just opposite to the famous Foong Foong Yong Tau Foo.  Do note that it is quite hard to find parking here due to the number of eateries around the area.

A small bowl of fish ball noodles costs RM 7.50, which consists of the noodles of your choice, 3 fish balls, 2 thinly sliced fish cakes, green scallions and fried onions.  There weren't any vegetables at all. The soup tastes quite bland, but you can add some preserved dried cabbage to the soup for more flavor.

Their fish balls are hand made daily with fresh Wolf Herring fish, hence the irregular shape and texture. There are no added preservatives or artificial colorings. You can taste the fishiness in the fish balls, but they are not as springy as I expected. However, they are soft and bouncy but not rubbery.

We actually like the fish cakes more than the fish balls. The fish cakes are thinly sliced, so it's easier to eat. Soft and chewy, it makes a good side dish.

Ampang Fishball Noodle, although famous, unfortunately, is not the best.  However, it's a good place to eat if you are craving for a bowl of good fish ball noodles.
