Bel Pasto Pizza is an Italian restaurant located somewhere around Desa Aman Puri. The hidden gem restaurant not only serves affordable, authentic Italian food, but also some of the best Tiramisu in town.

The traditional Italian restaurant features old school Italian décor that includes red and white checkered tablecloths, rich wooden tables and chairs, framed paintings on the walls and artificial grapevines suspended from the ceiling. The entire space is softly lit by warm lights, which creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

We arrived as soon as the restaurant opened. The restaurant is usually packed with diners, especially during weekends. Since we arrived early, the restaurant was pretty empty but was full by the time we started eating.

Mushroom Soup

10 minutes later, our food was served. The first dish to arrive at our table was Mushroom Soup. I must say that it was a bit disappointing. It was overly salty and tasted like instant mushroom soup. The only difference was they added some button mushrooms into it.

Garlic Bread

We also ordered Garlic bread because it was the best thing to pair with Mushroom Soup.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

We ordered Aglio e Olio to share. A very simple Italian dish of spaghetti, garlic and olive oil. It was
a bit wet and the taste was a bit lacking.

Bel Pasto Pizza

We ordered two pizzas to share - Bel Pasto Pizza and Hawaiian Pizza. Bel Pasto Pizza is their signature pizza. It was topped with black olives, pepperoni, bell peppers, savory tomato sauce and lots of melted cheese!

Hawaiian Pizza

The classic Hawaiian Pizza combines tomato sauce, ham, pineapple and melted cheese. Both pizzas were served piping hot with generous amount of toppings, sauce and melted cheese. The crusts were thin and crispy. I love their pizzas because they were so savory and cheesy.

Tiramisu

Other than food, Bel Pasto also serves one of the best Tiramisu in Kuala Lumpur.  Ever wonder what does Tiramisu taste like without its signature alcohol taste? You can find out at Bel Pasto as the restaurant serves alcohol-free Tiramisu.

Creamy, smooth and rich, this is certainty one of the best Tiramisu we have eaten so far. I love that it was not too sweet and the taste of coffee wasn't too strong. There was a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness. Unfortunately, I have a caffeine intolerance, so I can only have a few bites of the cake.

Surprisingly, it was extremely cheap as well. A slice of it cost RM 10.80 while 1 kg of it costs RM 53. However, you will need to preorder the cake in advance if you wish to purchase a whole cake.

CONCLUSION

Overall, the food was good, but not exceptional. I am not sure whether the food taste like real authentic Italian cuisine or not, so I can't comment much on this. But anyway, I love their pizzas. Their Tiramisu was really good as well. Surprisingly, the food was also reasonably affordable. The total bill came to RM 130 for four people.

However, service has to be improved. Although it was prompt and efficient, the servers did not make us feel welcome. No one greeted us or even smiled at us. The air ventilation inside the restaurant was also very bad. We left the restaurant smelling of grease and smoke after dinner.
