1 bottle sold in every 4 seconds in Japan!
Japan No.1 Moisturizing Lotion
Just a little drop locks up an ocean!

I believe for people who frequent the Watson or Guardian stores often, the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion would not be an unfamiliar product to you. In fact, that sentence that reads "1 sold in every 4 seconds" is sufficient to make most ladies feel curious and tempted to try this product out.

I have been a loyal fan and user of this product for the past two years. So I think two years is long enough for me to write detailed review for it. For people who are unfamiliar with Japan skincare, lotion literally means toner in their country. So for those who are intending to get a moisturizing cream rather than a toner, please purchase the one which states "moisturizing milk" instead of "moisturizing lotion".

What Hada Labo Says

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid that helps to prevent extensive moisture loss.

1. Nano Hyaluronic Acid can be easily absorbed to provide moisture to the deeper skin layers.

2. Super Hylauronic Acid keeps skin hydrated and smooth for a longer period of time.

3. Hylauronic Acid (HA) helps to lock and retain moisture on skin.

- Intense hydration which helps to improve dry and dehydrated skin, leaving it soft and smooth

- Skin PH balanced which cause no or little irritation.

- Free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant

What Is Hyaluronic Acid?

Apparently, Hyaluronic Acid is one of the new and popular ingredients discovered in the skin care market in the recent years.

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (or carbohydrate) in human body. It can be found in a large amount in the spaces between skin cells, which helps to create a hydrated and youthful looking skin.

Unfortunately, due to aging, this amount of Hyaluronic acid in our skin starts to disappear. This is especially obvious for people over the age of 40.

As a result, Hyaluronic acid fillers are getting popular nowadays. Many people have turned to dermatologists or surgeons for Hyaluronic acid injections, with the hope to treat wrinkles and sunken skin resulted from aging.

However, for people who could not afford such treatment, there are cheaper alternatives. Due to the popularity of Hyaluronic acid, it is not difficult to find products in the market that contains such ingredient in the market. The ingredient is most commonly used in the formulation of serums and moisturizers. Although it is not as effective as the fillers, it still helps to provide sufficient hydration to drying and damaged skin.

What I Like About This Product

1. Instant hydration

Just a few drops of the toner is sufficient to keep my face moisturized instantly. My skin not only feels hydrated immediately after application, but also smoother and softer at the same time. The toner does not make my skin feels oily or sticky and can be easily absorbed once applied.

So far, this product has never caused any breakouts. My skin also looks more brighter and healthy since I started using this product two years ago.

2. No alcohol

I have tried a few toners in the market before the Hada Labo Hyaluronic acid moisturizing lotion. I came to a similar conclusion for all. Most of the toners I have tried smell strongly of alcohol. I disliked the idea of applying alcohol on my face as it is really bad for skin. I shall elaborate more next time.

I was skeptical when I was considering whether to purchase this. Eventually I gave in to my curiosity and made a purchase. Luckily I did! The toner itself was a little thicker than water. It does not have any smell at all. No alcohol or any kind of fragrances.

3. Packaging and price

The product is packed in a simple plastic bottle containing 170 ml of the toner. Nothing fanciful at all.  As for price, it retails at around SGD 23 in Watson stores and RM 42 in Malaysia. I find this rather expensive after I relocated to KL. Even so, I still think the product is worth the price as I took pretty long to finish one bottle. A bottle of the toner is enough to last me for more than half a year.

Oh, the Hada Labo Hyaluronic acid moisturizing lotion comes in a refill package as well which I thought to be more environmental friendly. However, similar as many other products, I have never seen any Watsons or Guardian stores selling the refill packs in Malaysia too.

What I Dislike About This Product

I could not state what I dislike about this product. There is simply nothing I am unhappy about. However, one thing to note is that this product actually contains Methylparabens, an ingredient which I have mentioned briefly in my Hazeline Snow Moisturizing Cream review.

How I Use This Product

For me, I prefer to apply the lotion with a cotton pad rather than using my bare hands. Not only it helps to remove any remaining dirt and oil on my face while applying, but at the same time, provides moisture for my skin.

Some people prefer to apply the toner with their hands. If you prefer to use you hands, simply dispense a few drops of the toner and pat them gently on your skin.

I always wash my face thoroughly before I apply any skincare product onto my skin every night. After the toner, I proceed on to complete my skincare routine with a serum and moisturizer.

My Final Thoughts

For people who are looking for a simple and affordable toner, I would suggest that you give the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic acid lotion a try. This is a product well-loved by so many others around the world, especially in most of the Asian countries.

This is a product that suits every skin types. It is my savior that has solved my skin flakiness problems. Definitely a must have product!
