Leaving Duoliang Station 多良火车站, we got back in the van once again and drove further into Taichung city 台东市 where we checked in Midori B&B 米多丽精致民宿 for the night.

Midori B&B 米多丽精致民宿

Midori B&B is a beautiful six bedroom, double storey terraced house located just 5 minutes drive away from Taitung airport 台东机场.  The property is surrounded by open countryside, gardens and farmland.

As usual, Mr Tsai has booked a 6-person room in order to accommodate the 6 of us. Payment for our room was made in cash upon arrival.

The B&B is situated in a very quiet location, away from the bustling crowds, noisy traffic and pollution. There are no convenience stores, restaurants and anything nearby the property. Although the B&B is located near to the airport, its location is not easily accessible by public transport. I would only recommend anyone to book this B&B only if you have a driver.

We were greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. The owner were exceptionally helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Free private parking is available on site, so parking is not an issue. The house has a nice front porch area with ample of space for vehicles of any size.

The owner was kind and happy to show us around his farm and mini garden. Its quiet location provides a very relaxed atmosphere and a perfect place for rest.

Once in the house, we were asked to remove our shoes and change into a pair of indoor slippers. However, I prefer to walk barefoot around the house because it feels more comfortable to me.

The spacious ground floor is made up largely of windows, which allowed plenty of sunshine into the home.

The moment when we stepped into the house, we felt very welcomed and comfortable. It was well-lit with yellowish lights, which gave the entire place a very warm and comfy feel.

The ground floor features an open-plan living room with fully fitted kitchen, dining area and a toilet.

Midori B&B offers all the comfort of home, with well-furnished and comfortable rooms and the delight of home-cooked breakfast prepared by the owner's wife. Breakfast was very basic but filling, consisting of plain rice congee and a few side dishes. Fresh milk, coffee and tea are also served with breakfast.

Water cooler is also provided for guests to refill their water bottle at any time of the day.

The second floor accessible by a parquet staircase offers four bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and private balcony.

The staircase landing features a built in bookcase filled with books for reading pleasure.

Fitted with parquet flooring, the modern air-conditioned room was elegantly decorated and it felt just like home as soon as we stepped in. The room was spacious, clean and well-equipped with three queen sized beds, a small round coffee table, a red 2-seater sofa, satellite TV and individually controlled air-conditioning.

TV selection was great, with plenty of channels to flip through. In addition to that, we also enjoyed free, fast and strong Wifi connection throughout our entire stay at Midori B&B.

Beside each bed, there was a small cabinet for us to store our belongings in an easy to reach place. The room is a decent size with plenty of space for us to place our luggage without tripping over them.

The beds were extremely comfortable that we fell asleep as soon as our head hit the pillows. Despite being so close to the airport, there was minimal plane noise. The surrounding was quiet, so we had a really good night sleep.

Other amenities include a large built-in wardrobe, dressing table and a mini fridge.

Basic toiletries such as comb, shaver, disposable toothbrush and toothpaste are provided for guest use. Each of these are packed in individual sachets for complete hygiene.

Apart from that, there were also sufficient towels provided in the room for every guests. Each of the towels were nicely folded and stacked neatly in place on a dressing table.

Our room also features an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in glass shower.  The bathroom was spacious, well-maintained and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of space for us to hang our clothes and towels when we shower. Thus, we do not have any worries about getting our clothes wet.

Some of the other bathroom amenities include a hair dryer, bidet and makeup mirror.

Other than that, the bathroom is also well-equipped with soap, hair shampoo and conditioner mounted on the wall in a dispenser.

Our room also opens out to a private balcony overlooking the garden and countryside.

The balcony is a great place to unwind with a cup of tea or to relax with a book. This was where we can leave all the hustle and bustle behind and enjoy a slower pace of life.

The B&B is a perfect place for anyone who is tired of the hectic and exhausted city life.

Overall, we had a wonderful time staying at Midori B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome and gracious hospitality provided from the owner and his wife. The property was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable.

It was a truly home away from home! I wish we could stay here longer than just a night. However, we could not extend our stay due to tight itinerary. We were very happy to stay at this beautiful property and really appreciate every little effort that the owners put in to make our stay pleasant and unforgettable.

Price wise, it was very reasonable and affordable. I would definitely recommend Midori B&B to anyone looking for a clean and quiet place to stay in Taitung City. This is where we get to sit back, relax and enjoy the laid-back pace of life. Absolutely the perfect place to escape mass tourism from the city.

  2. HI Elin, thanks for sharing about your trip. : )

It seems you picked the perfect driver. Does he smoke? Did the van have any smell of cigarette? My mother is allergic to cigarette smell and it can give her severe migraine. So I am hoping to find a non-smoking driver for our trip.

    1. Hi Mike,

Yes, I am glad that I found a good drive. Don't worry, he does not smoke. His van does not smell of cigarette. I hate cigarette smell too. I would really recommend this driver.
