Aging is a normal and natural process which cannot be avoided. The first signs of aging are usually reflected on our face skin, particularly our eye area, which ages 5 to 10 years faster than the rest of your face. This is because the skin around the eyes are often the most delicate and driest area, making it susceptible to fine lines, dark circles and puffiness.

Even though it is impossible to stop aging completely, you can actually slow down the process with a proper skin care routine. A very important but often overlooked step in your skin care routine is an eye cream. It is expensive but a skin care essential that will help to keep your eyes looking younger.


A while ago, I received an email from Swanicoco Malaysia , offering me an eye cream in exchange for a review. Of course, I gladly accepted the offer since I have heard about this brand before and would certainly love to try their products out.

The Brand

Swanicoco is the number 1 bio-natural skincare brand in South Korea. Every of their product is made from 90% to 100% natural fermented formulations which use latest ingredients such as Astraxan, snail secretion, rice fermentation, ginseng, soybeans, tea tree extract and etc. It is free from animal origins and not tested on animals. The fragrance used in the products are naturally derived from plants and flowers. In addition, all their products are also free from harmful ingredients like parabens, alcohol, mineral oil, pigments, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives and benzophenone,  making them suitable for sensitive skin.

The Eye Cream


Swanicoco Bio Peptine Eye Cream is filled with luxurious anti-aging ingredients such as wild ginseng roots, concentrated peptides, ceramides, EGF and Adenosine. The product is infused with 8 types of  peptides that promotes collagen and elastin production, which helps to improves skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Ceramides are lipids that helps to repair and strengthen skin barrier and retain moisture, giving you plumper and firmer looking skin. It also contain EGF (Epidermal growth factor), which are a type of naturally occuring in our bodies that simulates collagen and elastin to improve skin texture and elasticity. 

Other than these, the eye cream also contains brightening ingredients like Niacinamide and lemon peel ferment extract that help to reduce the appearance of dark circles. Despite its concentrated formula, the special fermentation process breaks down these ingredients further, allowing it to penetrate easily deep into your skin.

The Packaging
Swanicoco Bio Peptine Eye Cream comes in a basic tube with a screw cap, containing 20 ml of the product. The tube packaging ensures an easy and hygienic application without needing to touch the product itself every time you use it, which contaminate it. But you will probably only find 45ml size being sold in their store. The eye cream is currently priced at RM 147.10 (20 ml), RM 45.70 (5 ml) 267.70 (45 ml) respectively.

Just like most of the other eye creams that you will find in the market, this product also comes in fairly small size with a pretty big price tag.  But a tube of it would probably last probably going lasts you for a couple of months since you do not need to use a lot of it during each application. You will only need a pea-sized amount of the eye cream just to cover the skin under both eyes.

Smell 

The eye cream has a very slight citrus-like scent. I like the smell because it is very refreshing and not too overpowering.

Texture



The texture is more like a gel than cream. It is extremely lightweight and non greasy and non sticky at all. Due to its gel-like consistency,it can be spread and easily to be absorbed by skin, which makes it perfect for both day time and night time use.

Effectiveness 

I have been using this eye cream for a month now. So far, I am satisfied with the result. After using it for a month, I have noticed that my eyes look less puffy than before. The darker area under my eyes have also brighten up so that they look less fatigue and dry. However, I am not sure whether it is effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles since I do not have any yet.

How To Use

I am using this eye cream only at night. After washing my face, I would usually apply a toner with a cotton pad to remove any residual excess oil, dirt or debris from the skin's surface. This will also help to soothe your complexion and minimize the appearance of pores. Then I will apply the eye cream before a moisturizer, but this will depend which one is thicker. The thicker one will go on top than the lighter one.

Squeeze out 2-3 tiny dots of eye cream about half an inch under your lash line and gently pat it around your under eyes area until fully absorbed. Remember, be gentle and do not rub because it is bad for your skin. Once the eye cream is fully absorbed, I will apply my moisturizer.
