Located in Desa Aman Puri, Kepong, Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant is a decade-old Hong Kong restaurant opened by a young couple from Hong Kong. The restaurant is well known for their seafood dishes, more particularly for their crabs dishes. Other than crabs, the restaurant also offers a wide selection of seafood and meat dishes for diners to choose from.
We arrived slightly later than 7 pm on a Saturday night with a long queue outside of the restaurant. However, we were lucky to be able to secure a table inside the restaurant immediately when we arrived.
Signature Coconut Curry Prawns
Price: RM 36
The Coconut Curry Prawns is one of their signature dish. Fresh prawns, cabbage, eggplants and long beans are cooked in curry using coconut water and served in a coconut husk. The curry gravy is rich and savory, which makes it goes extremely well with rice.
The prawns are medium sized and are perfectly flavorful while being coated with that luscious thick gravy. Other than curry, you can also order this in Tom Yum too.
Kam Heong Crabs with Spice Paste
We ordered Kam Heong Crabs with Spice Paste. They are currently having a promotion for their crabs where you can order 3 M size crabs for RM 48. Crabs here are probably the cheapest in town, but be prepared to get what you paid for. The crabs are quite small even though we ordered L size instead of M size ones, so I guess it is not very cheap. For L size crabs, it was 2 for RM 78 if I did not remember wrongly. But taste wise, it is still quite good.
Homemade Bean curd is another one of their signature dish. Every one of it is fried to crispy on the outside and is silky soft and smooth on the inside. The bean curd itself is tasteless, but taste good when it is eaten with the chili sauce dip.

This is another one of their highly recommended dishes. The grouper is nicely done and has a smooth texture. The gravy is flavorful and sweet with Enoki mushroom.

Stir-Fried Kangkung Belacan
Price: RM 14 (S) | RM 18 (M) | RM 22 (L)
Overall, the food taste good, but not exceptionally delicious. We ordered all the dishes in the smallest size, but they were actually smaller than what we have actually expected. Considering the size of the dishes, the price was not exactly cheap. Personally, I don't think this restaurant is worth spend hours queuing for. Well, unless you love crabs but don't mind the size of them, this may be a good choice.
